Amani Jlassi Regrets Becoming an American Citizen, Says Her American Dream Is Now to Leave the Country

Former 90 Day Fiancé cast member Amani Jlassi shocked fans this week after breaking down on social media and saying she regrets becoming an American citizen.

In a series of emotional videos reposted by fan page TheRealityTvmess, Amani cried while describing what she called her “horrible experience” living in the United States. She claimed the current system only benefits evil billionaires and their circles while regular people are left struggling. According to Amani, she reached a breaking point after an incident in Santa Monica where her car was towed just minutes after the restricted parking time began.

Amani explained that her wallet was inside the car when it was taken, leaving her with only $400 on hand — not enough to retrieve the vehicle. She said she tried to get her car back that same night but was turned away, and when she returned the next day, she wasn’t even allowed to take her wallet out of the vehicle. She described having to go to the police department, pay $200 for paperwork, and then return to the tow lot where she was asked for another $500. Through tears, Amani said she felt the entire situation was unfair and that it reflected a larger problem of greed and a lack of compassion toward everyday people.

By the end of her emotional rant, Amani said she felt completely disillusioned with the country she once dreamed of calling home. She shared that it took her ten years to earn her American citizenship after arriving from Tunisia as a student chasing the American dream. Now, she says that same citizenship is making her miserable and that her new dream is to leave the United States altogether. Fans were divided in the comments, but one thing is clear: Amani’s experience has left her questioning everything she once believed about her future in America.
