Former reality TV personality Paul Staehle once again seems to have gotten mixed up with the wrong people in Brazil, and it genuinely looks like his life could be in danger.
Paul has been stuck living in Brazil for years now, not only because he overstayed his visa and can’t leave without risking being banned from returning, but also because his living situation has collapsed into extreme poverty. In a recent YouTube stream with blogger John Yates, Paul revealed that he had been staying in what sounded like an abandoned building filled with cockroaches, lacking basic appliances, and with some rooms missing an actual roof. He also admitted he didn’t have stable employment and was barely surviving off a few dollars from Cameo.
To make things worse, Paul has also been dealing with a stalker in Brazil — a local woman he says he interacted with in the past who developed an intense fixation on him. According to Paul, she has been publicly claiming to be his girlfriend even though she isn’t, and her behavior has been extremely intrusive and unsettling. Between the unstable housing, the lack of income, the visa issues, and this unwanted attention, Paul has been living in a very vulnerable position for a long time, and it seems like things have now escalated to a frightening level.
Last week, Paul posted a disturbing Instagram story saying he had “no intention of killing himself today” and that if anything happened to him, it was not self‑inflicted.
A few days later, John Yates shared a screenshot of a message someone close to Paul’s mother received, asking if Paul was even alive. She wasn’t responding, and the message she forwarded — allegedly sent from Paul’s phone — claimed: “You have 24 hours to pay his debt or we will send a video of him dying. Pay the man at the end of the street who has a walkie‑talkie. He will be there from 6pm to 6am.”
No one really knows whether Paul actually got himself tangled up with local loan sharks or criminals, or whether this is some kind of scam or misunderstanding. For now, all anyone can do is wait and hope Paul makes it out of this situation alive.
