According to Fabiola, who claims to be his girlfriend, Paul works as a tour guide for foreign visitors in Manaus — a city nestled in the heart of the Amazon and known for its adventurous appeal. The region doesn’t offer a lot of structured job opportunities, so many locals rely on tourism-related activities, and Paul has seemingly positioned himself within that space by leveraging his visibility and local knowledge.
Beyond guiding tourists, Paul reportedly owns several houses or tourist shacks in the area, which he uses as rental properties. These homes are rented out to individuals living in modest and difficult conditions — described as “precarious” by Fabiola. The tenants don’t appear to maintain the properties well, but the rental income still helps supplement Paul’s livelihood, allowing him to sustain himself in a city where stable employment is limited.
Fabiola also paints Manaus as a challenging place to live — noting its high cost of living, issues with violence, and lack of basic sanitation. She explains that she wouldn’t have had the courage to move there alone, but did so because of Paul. According to her statement, Paul gets by through a mix of hustle, resourcefulness, the tourism economy, and monetized social media platforms, which allow him to leverage his reality TV fame to generate income online.
