Interviewed by TMZ, Shekinah and Sarper Reveal the Real Reason They Chose a Bedding Ceremony Over a Traditional Wedding

In an unconventional yet perfectly on-brand move, 90 Day Fiancé stars Shekinah Garner and Sarper Güven opted for a bedding ceremony over a traditional wedding, a decision they explained in a recent interview with TMZ.

The couple, known for their bold personalities and unfiltered chemistry, revealed they’ve always shared a deep love for their bed—so much so that they eat most of their meals there. For Shekinah, the idea of a classic wedding felt too overwhelming. Instead, committing to each other in a setting they adore made it feel intimate and less intimidating. “It felt less scary in bed,” she told TMZ, emphasizing comfort over convention.

Their bedding ceremony wasn’t just a quirky idea—they went all out to make it stylish and elegant. According to their TMZ interview, Shekinah envisioned chandeliers, lush floral arrangements, and the shimmering backdrop of Los Angeles from their high-rise windows. The ceremony took place atop a lavish, white sheet-covered bed on a rooftop, blurring the line between luxury and eccentricity. Even the officiant didn’t know he’d be delivering vows bedside until the last minute—but rolled with it, laughing that in his 1,400 weddings, this was a first.

The couple admitted that while their families were surprised, no one was exactly shocked. After all, Shekinah and Sarper’s relationship has never followed a script. Sarper said the decision made perfect sense for them, describing it as sexy and classy—a ceremony that reflected their unique dynamic. They also made it clear it wasn’t a one-size-fits-all event; Shekinah told TMZ she wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to other couples, because it was deeply personal to their lifestyle and relationship.
