A family member claims that Ben Rathbun’s wife, Mahogany, was not by his side in his last days and when he passed away
Ben Rathbun, a former cast member of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, passed away this week at the age of 55 after battling stage 4 stomach cancer.
While many fans of the show knew him for his controversial relationship with Mahogany Roca, few were aware that he was actually married to her at the time of his death. Their marriage, however, was far from perfect, as they reportedly had a rocky relationship behind closed doors. Mahogany, who is 25 years old and originally from Peru, had left Ben multiple times throughout their relationship, only for him to chase after her in an attempt to reconcile. This cycle repeated itself several times, highlighting the instability of their union. Despite their struggles, Mahogany ultimately agreed to marry Ben in 2024, but their relationship remained tumultuous until his passing.
Ben’s life was filled with chaos long before his time on reality television. In 2018, he was charged with felony embezzlement for allegedly stealing $20,000 from a nonprofit organization. Two years later, in 2020, he was arrested for driving under the influence and sentenced to 18 months of probation. His legal troubles didn’t end there—just last year, he was arrested again in Michigan for unpaid child support. Despite his criminal history, Mahogany chose to overlook his past and continued to be involved with him. However, their relationship was never stable, and Mahogany frequently returned to Peru, only for Ben to follow her in an attempt to mend things. Their toxic cycle of separation and reconciliation was well-documented, and many fans speculated that their marriage was more about appearances than genuine love.
While TMZ reported that Mahogany was by Ben’s side during his final days, a Reddit user—who is also a close family member—has disputed this claim, stating that Mahogany was not present and that Ben was surrounded by his family instead.
