90 day fiancé: The reason Mike Silva had a stroke

Darcey and Stacey Silva were terrified and feeling unwell after their father, Mike Silva, suffered a stroke while they were far from his home. The twins who were born and raised in Connecticut, debuted with 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 1 and were soon taking viewers on a journey of their plastic surgery and romantic adventures while making money with their clothing business. The most recent season of their spin-off show, is mainly focused on Darcey who started her journey to find a new man, to later trying reconciling with her ex fiancé Georgi Rusev. It's also about Stacey and Florian Sukaj's second wedding. However, something occurred to their father that left them terrified and pleading for prayers.

People.com's shared a Darcey & Stacey season 4 episode 11 preview, which revealed what happened to Darcey and Stacey's fan favorite dad Michael. Darcey and Stacey were on the phone with Mike, who told them that he was simply sitting when something "felt wrong" and "different." Mike can be heard expressing via slurred words that he abruptly lost his thoughts, while thinking and that his eyes went fuzzy, making it difficult for him to focus and speak. "So I went up to look in the mirror and saw that my balance was off." "I mean, I almost fell because I was off balance," he continues before disclosing his diagnosis.

"I called my doctor and went to see him." "He told me it's a stroke," Mike explained. Michael suffered a mini-stroke. "There are many stages of stroke, to the point of embolism, which kills you," he continues to tell the twins as they cry. Darcey and Stacey, who were in New York for Stacey and Florian's bachelorette party, insisted on visiting Mike in Connecticut, but he didn't want them to come home and cause him stress. Mike advised his girls, "clear direction, clear plan, don't cry like I'm on my deathbed," but this didn't not help to calm them down.

Mike's mini stroke was caused by a Transient ischemic attack, it occurs when one of the blood arteries that deliver oxygen-rich blood to your brain becomes blocked. Because of the disruption in the flow of blood to the brain, it is unable to perform some of its normal activities, resulting in symptoms such as slurred speech and weakness. We don't know how stressful Mike's life is behind the scenes, but a mini stroke and blood clots, usually happen to people who are 55 years old or older, especially to those who are heavy smokers, drinkers or have a very stressful life.

In the fourth season of the show, Stacey marries Florian for the second time. Mike's illness will not only diminish the celebrations, but will also weigh down Stacey, who can't envision life without her father. Stacey also needs to be strong for Darcey, who is the more sensitive of the two sisters and couldn't stop crying when their father told them the news. Darcey and Stacey are still grieving the loss of their older brother, Michael Silva junior, to cancer in 1998.

The sisters sense his presence and know that he's watching over them from the heavens. Mike Silva has played a major role in Darcey & Stacey from season one. Mike spent the majority of his time working in China, but he retired around season 2 and has been the sisters' voice of reason, earning audiences' hearts with his blunt remarks on Darcey and Stacey's relationship troubles. Episode 11 will be more focused on what happened to their father and how will that effect Darcey and Stacey's future.
