90 Day Fiancé: Why did Rebecca and Zied move to Tunisia?

90 Day Diaries is back for a fourth season, which means the viewers will get to see some of the notable alumni of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise and what have they been doing lately. The premiere has shown some cast members that the fans know well, including Julia Trubkina and Brandon Gibbs, Molly Hopkins, Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas, and Rebecca Parrott and Zied Hakimi. And all of these couples seem to be in a healthy relationship, but most of them are not financially stable yet and still trying to decide which is the best city or country to settle in.

Rebecca Parrott and Zied Hakimi might have an enormous age gap, she's 51 years old and he's 29. But they are one of the rarest 90 Day Fiancé franchise couple, who has managed to make their relationship work. The fans can really see that Zied is not a Tunisian love rat and that he actually loves Rebecca so much and cares for her.

The married couple has been going strong for over 3 years, and they have been sharing many happy couple pictures together on both of their Instagram accounts. Lately, Zied posted photos of himself and Rebecca enjoying the beach in his native Tunisia. Both of them impressed the viewers with their glowing appearances, Rebecca has been taking good care of her, and same for Zied even if both were trying to battle gaining weight at some point, but that was a so hard thing to achieve due to covid and the way processed food is made in the United States.

In 90 day diaries season 4, we see that the couple is struggling financially, even with Rebecca working remotely online with a company and Zied working as a furniture salesman, their joined income was not enough to pay for rent and everyday life in Atlanta, Georgia. Rebecca revealed that her apartment lease will end in a couple of months, and the landlord is asking for a triple of what they've been paying now, which is something the couple cannot afford. The whole world is a mess at the moment, everything is more expensive, inflation rate is high and the normal folks cannot afford to live in big cities in the United States anymore. This could be a shock for Zied, who was hoping to live the American dream when he moved to the United States to be with Rebecca, but now, in a couple of months, they will be homeless unless they find a cheaper apartment real quick or move to Tunisia as he suggested.

Zied got his green card this year, so he can finally fly to Tunisia to see his family who he didn't visit for 2 whole years. He also was thinking about flying alone at first, which made Rebecca panic a little thinking that he may stay there permanently and never go back again to be with her in the USA. So she finally decided to take the next flight and join him. The couple has thought this through and decided to move to Tunisia because life was unaffordable in the United States while in Tunisia, just with Rebecca salary from her online job, both of them can have a good life,  the best apartment and eat the best food without Zied being homesick because he will be able to see his family everyday now. But what about Rebecca? she doesn't seem to be so convinced by the idea of moving permanently to a third world country, and she just went there because she didn't want to lose Zied.
